Hi there guys, how are you all doing?

This time I’m here to make an appeal: help yourself by helping a bunch of awesome indie games composers and pick this bundle up. :) You can get nothing short than 10 albums for only $1 (!!!) or if you’re feeling more generous you can get an even bigger pack (17 albums) for 10 bucks.

If you’re still uncertain about it just take a listen to this and put your doubts to an end now. :)

PPPPPPixels FTW!

Define Dancing… EVE.

Hi there folks, how are you all doing?

While watching to (and enjoying) the beautiful Pixar’s animation movie WALL-E I was digging for some clues on how to make a nice ambient soundtrack since the film makes little use of spoken dialogues… But actually I was surprised by Thomas Newman’s fairly traditional approach to it–using strings for some epicness, dynamics for taking control of the action scenes and so on. I guess I was looking at the wrong place since the story here is strong enough by itself to the point you don’t really need to conduct people through music–in the end leaving to it just the usual supporting role when it comes to telling a story.

Anyway I think there are two pieces of music (and animation for that matter) that really standout here (actually the same, rebooted lol): “EVE”, for the Apple-ish robot’s entrance (I couldn’t help but noticing Steve Jobs’ name at the “Special Thanks” credits… -.-) and “Define Dancing” for… well, a dance. ;) Both pieces got the right measures on a  blend of emotion and technology that suit the movie’s overall feeling perfectly.

Please, avoid ’em you want to be safe from some minor spoilers… But enjoy it if you don’t really mind. :)

See ya, have an awesome week!

Way Too Derivative…

Hi there guys, how are you doing?

While nuzzling the SWU Brazillian Music Festival‘s lineup I recalled my first impression on Stone Temple Pilots the first time time they appeared: a sub-grunge-something. Of course, Plush was awesome, but Core (their ’92 debut album) just can’t survive a comparision to other contemporary bands–Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Soundgarden or Alice in Chains–and I couldn’t help but thinking it was just… gold digging.

Anyway I decided to take a listen to their last album and get ready to change my mind and enjoy the show. But I laughed. lol Sorry, but it’s still the same old story… There’s nothing really original there and the derivation can even be blatant at times. I won’t make a video footage here because I lack the techniques to do that :P but I’ll feel free to point some recollections I had while listening to the album. It may sound like a rant but in fact it’s just funny. -.- See ya!

This chorus sounds just like the “Monkey see, monkey do” part of this (actually ig gets worst in the part that follows the chorus):

Another one:

Just like this:

This is a trickier one:

Just like this chorus:

And the last, a little more vague because I’m nasty. lol

Sounds like:

New EPs, Old Project. lol

Hi there, how are you all doing?

Some time ago I mentioned a “British” songs project that evolved into an “overseas” project which I never have the time to really finish… lol But here is another effort on that matter.

Since I’ve been mixing instrumental themes to field recordings from Soundclouders I decided to come up with a series of 3 EPs showing at least part of the job done so far. Each set contains a song, an instrumental mix (those with the field recordings) and a couple sketches of the songs while being composed.

#1 is up, I hope you enjoy it–and look forward for the next ones. :)

See ya!

A Secret Still Untold. (EP#1)

Wait for the others…
