Bleeding Fingers Contest!

February 18, 2014 Leave a comment

Hi there, how have you all been?

Well, it seems Mr. Hanz Zimmer wants us. :) I’m taking part in a contest held by Bleeding Fingers to make a remix on an original theme by the man and just putting the thing together was a good time. :)

Hans Zimmer Wants You

From the first moment I listened to the original piece I imagined the main voice floating over a more acoustic, slow-paced ground… It’s a very beautiful and delicate melody. My take on it was to mess a good deal with the harmony (making it Major to start) and after that developing a more “organic” epicness–if I can put it that way–by recording real percussion.

Here’s the work. I hope you like it, and if you do I would appreciate a vote or “favorite” from you dear visitor. ;)

See ya, take care!

Testing Vocals.

Hi there, how have you been?

This week I want to share a test recording I did for applying different melodic line voices… (For some reason that sentence started dancing inside my head and the only thing I had to do was to grab it. lol)

The important thing when creating such a wall of vocals is to sort ’em into categories (like “harmonization” or “counterpoint”) before really starting to work; as long as you’re able to do that piling 2nd, 3rd lines will be a lot easier.

Take a listen, I hope you like it. :)

Hi there, how have you been?

Proceeding with that commented portfolio matter here is a short-but-interesting-nevertheless theme… :P It borrows an influence from the ostinato concept (repeating a motif “with obstinacy”, literally) and the use of an unusual time signature to achieve a mysterious, kinda miring theme.

The piano ostinato grows in speed just to start slowly all over again–almost as if it was a skipping record. :)

I hope you like this one, se ya! :)

Hi there, how have you been?

Once again I want to share a recording that came out almost without me noticing it… After meeting a friend who is facing a tough family issue I grabbed my acoustic guitar and recorded this. So take a listen and take my best wishes of strenght for those in need–if that’s your case feel free to call it yours as well. :)

Enjoy, see ya!

Hi there, how are you doing?

More on that commented portfolio issue… :P Here we go with four tracks for a RPG videogame called HIVE. The first two are variations of the same theme, the one reserved for the “Rosebrooke” village; the later are short vignettes meant to be played when certain requirements are met, like “victory” or “death”. lol

I hope you like it. See ya!

Commented Portfolio: Tracks #4 and #5

Hi there people, how have you been?

Proceeding with the commented portfolio here we go with two more tracks. :)

#4 Nocturne #100 (sketch)

An acoustic guitar sketch (the hundredth as you can see lol), this one was written in the wee, wee hours… :) As I’ve been doing for some time now it has a fair amount of FX layers to make it… fatter. lol

#5 Zangief’s Theme [Street Fighter 25th Anniversary] – julian ozuka

Well, I’m really proud of this one. :) Last year Capcom (the famous videogame producer) promoted a world-wide contest looking for music and visual art made by fans to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Street Fighter series. I’m glad to say I was choosen to be  a part of it!

Just like the track before, it’s an acoustic rendition drenched in post-production FXs. I wanted to make Zangief’s theme to sound like steps of a giant coming our way–Zangief is all about that after all, huh? ;)

See ya next week!
