Nothing. (sic)

Hi there, how have you been?

This week I want to share an old rough sketch for an indie game. It was composed based only on some abstract drawings and the idea of shifting icy and fiery environments.

Check the cool drwings (by Louie) and the little piece of music it inspired. :) I hope you like it!

See ya!

Hi there, how have you been?

Just wanted to share another instrumental theme, “Suco de goiaba” (stands for “Guava Juice”). A memento of small, simple happiness. :)

Hi there, how have you been?

Another lost piece of music found! This one was composed by influence of the book “Les marins perdus” by the French writer Jean-Claude Izzo. Wonderful read, made me think of a “floating mystery” if I can describe this recording that way. :P

Have a nice week, take care! :D

Those effect racks are going to kill me someday… :P But it’s getting more and more interesting. ;)

Commented Portfolio: Mysterostinatum.

Hi there, how have you been?

Proceeding with that commented portfolio matter here is a short-but-interesting-nevertheless theme… :P It borrows an influence from the ostinato concept (repeating a motif “with obstinacy”, literally) and the use of an unusual time signature to achieve a mysterious, kinda miring theme.

The piano ostinato grows in speed just to start slowly all over again–almost as if it was a skipping record. :)

I hope you like this one, se ya! :)

Hi there, how have you been?

Once again I want to share a recording that came out almost without me noticing it… After meeting a friend who is facing a tough family issue I grabbed my acoustic guitar and recorded this. So take a listen and take my best wishes of strenght for those in need–if that’s your case feel free to call it yours as well. :)

Enjoy, see ya!

Have a Nice Dream, Little Nemo. :)

Hi there, how have you been?

Further with my commented portfolio this time I want to share a track called “Have a Nice Dream, Little Nemo”. It’s based on the NES videogame from the 90s, which is based upon the strip comincs from the 10s. :P Both tell the story of a boy who lives the most exciting life in Dreamland just to discover in the end he was dreaming…

The piece here starts with a music box–a fitting choice for a slumber theme–but then develops towards a more sentimental path thanks to the powerful timbres of the oboe and a couple strings.

It’s more about… missing Dreamland when the dream ends, I guess.

I hope you like it, enjoy!

Commented Portfolio: A (Theatre) Play. (Tracks #6 & #7)

Hi there, how have you been?

Getting on with our commented portfolio here we go with two tracks from a theatre play soundtrack.

In this work I needed something… fantastic, though concrete to some extent. In order to achieve that I decided to keep an acoustic, folk mood when it comes to instrumentation (nylon guitar, mandolin–both traditional Brazillian/Portuguese instruments) in one hand and a more vanguard harmony for the “surprising”, magic feeling in the other–se the major chord striking the final blow in “Não esperou o dia seguinte”.

Enjoy is, see ya next week!
